Kolukkumalai is one of the highest mountains in the western ghats where the   world’s highest tea plantation is situated at a height of 7900 feet. It shares a border with Kerala and Tamilnadu.  How we planned the trip? Me and my two colleagues, Stijin and Kavya were working in an advertising firm and were thinking of going to some place to spend a weekend long away from the madding crowd and bustling noises of everyday life. Solo Trip to Hampi

Day 1: The Journey to Hampi Traveling solo is a blend of liberation and reflection, and my two-day escapade to Hampi was no exception. My journey began in Goa, where I boarded a train that promised scenic landscapes. As the train rumbled past the lush Western Ghats, the journey's highlight appeared — the majestic Dudhsagar Waterfalls. The cascading waters, roaring amidst the green backdrop, were a visual treat that heightened my anticipation for the adventure ahead. I reached Hospete Junction late at night. The station was abuzz with travelers, yet an air of tranquility prevailed. After some haggling, I hopped into a tuk-tuk for Rs. 250. The 30-minute ride to Hampi was serene, the quiet roads lit only by the occasional streetlight. My accommodation was a small, cozy homestay nestled near the Tungabhadra River.
